The StarRider is the mesh partner to the Bivouac. The StarRider is perfect for desert backpacking and when paired with the CMT Tarp it can be effective even in rainy weather. The star rider is similar to the bivouac 1.5 but it’s all mesh on a silicone impregnate nylon bathtub floor. Weighing only 1lb 4 oz its even lighter than the bivouac and when teamed up with The MTN STICK its the perfect duo for backpacking. The combination of the CMT tarp and the star rider is excellent for high humidity areas and concerns of precipitation. Using a mesh tent allows you to see 360° while you’re in camp for added security.  Watch the stars and keep an eye on your camp.

This tent is amazing! Light weight, spacious feel for the size and very durable. I used it in south east Texas where we normally have high humidity. The tent stayed dray and comfy all night. I never woke to a wet sleeping bag and my gear stayed dry. The integration of the mountain stick as the tent poles provided extra room in my pack for other essential gear. Col Mountain Tech thought of it all on this one. I used this in conjunction with the tarp and was absolutely pleased in every way!!! Easy to set up and take down, no leaks in heavy rain, extremely light, no through hiker could ask for more. Great for short weekends or long treks.

I used this tent in the southeast desert of Utah. It worked great. Super lightweight. Kept the bugs and critters out. The view of the stars was amazing! Looking forward to more adventures using the Starrider.

What a great combo. We just used the tarp and the starider this weekend on a two night adventure in Texas. It was super humid and about 50 degrees through the night, and rained off and on. When we woke up, we were totally dry in our tent. The tarp was wet like it should be. It took all the moisture. If you’ve ever lived or camped on humid climates, you’d know how amazing it is to not wake up wet from condensation. It did exactly what we hoped it would. The tent was way roomy for two people, and it was super light. And easy to set up. Great combo with the mountain stick. Get the mountain stick, the tarp, and tent.
